The Clarendon Outdoor Entertainment Association held its first Saints’ Roost Rough Stock Challenge last Saturday, May 7, with moderate attendance.
COEA estimates 426 people attended the event, which had a total of 34 participants.
Colby McClesky placed first of 19 contestants in the ranch bronc riding. Coltin Kingston and Cody Crockett split second and third places.
Tyler Turco was first in the field of five cowboys in the saddle bronc riding.
The bull riding contest had ten participants, but no one stayed on for the full eight seconds.
A washer pitching tournament and horseshoe tournament preceded the rodeo. Mike Ritchie and Jim Owens were the first place in pitching washer with second going to the team of Junior Rodriguez and Juan. The Shane & Dub team won the horseshoe tournament followed by the Blaine & TA team.
Entertainment following the rodeo was provided by the Buster Bledsoe Band.
Also during the rodeo, the Colt Cheerleaders conducted a 50-50 raffle. Jennifer Floyd was the winner and donated her winnings back to the organization.
