W. Jerry Gray, 73, died May 25, 2016, in Amarillo.
Services were held on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Enns officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brooks Funeral Directors.
Burial followed at Dreamland Cemetery.
W. Jerry Gray was born on December 20, 1942, in Clarendon to William Vance and Jewel Ismanelle Gray. He graduated from Clarendon High School and attended Clarendon Jr. College. Jerry married Gloria Houston on June 18, 1983, in Abernathy. He loved driving a truck for 42 years. Jerry enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger. He also enjoyed riding four-wheelers and vacations with family. He was a member of Kiwanis Club and the First United Methodist Church, where he was very active in the Pathfinders Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Gray, of the home; four children, William Scott Gray and wife, Kasi, of Amarillo, Amberly Kay Cogswell, of Canyon, Cameron Davis Gray and wife, Amanda, of Southlake, and Amie Carrasco and husband, Jaime, of Childress; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Larry Gray and wife, Derlene, and Buster Gray and wife, Linda, all of Clarendon; one sister, Charlene Brown and husband, Butch, of Floydada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1818 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
