Reginald Stewart “Bill” Lowe, 99, died Monday. December 12, 2016, in Sterling, Colorado.
Services were held on Monday, December 19, 2016, in the First Baptist Church of Hedley, with Rev. Anthony Knowles officiating.
Cremation & arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Bill Lowe died December 12, 2016, in Sterling, Colorado at the age of 99 years and 364 2/3 days. He was born on December 13, 1916, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Ruben and Laura Lowe. Bill was a cowboy and began his career at the age of 16 working for his Uncle Joe in Rawlins, Wyoming. He cowboyed for 70 years in the Texas panhandle for numerous ranches; Finch Ranch in Hedley, Johnson Ranch in Alanreed, McMurtry in Goodnight, Stroop Ranch in Quitaque, and Ingram Ranch in Pampa. He retired at the age of 90. Bill’s hobbies were cowboying, ranch work, and telling stories about cowboying and ranch work. Bill was always a dedicated family man and loved all kids.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Ruben and Laura; his wife, Carolyn Webster Lowe; three sisters, Dorothy Lowe, Marie Lowe Anderson, and Mary Joe Proffitt; and his grandson, Robert Wayne Carmichael.
He is survived by his children, Jeanine Hermsmeyer and husband Frank of Vancourt, Kathy Logsdon and husband Jim of Panhandle, Jim Lowe and wife Janet of New Raymer, Colorado, David Lowe and wife Susan of Amarillo, C.W. Woodward of Lefors, LeeAnn Green of Amarillo, and Kelly Martinez and husband Ricky of Wellington; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family request memorials be sent to Rowe Cemetery in Hedley or a favorite charity of choice.
