Senior Marshal Johnson was rewarded for his hard work and dedication this season as he was named the District Most Valuable Player according to head coach Brandt Lockhart. Johnson had a big part in the success of the Broncos this season in the regular season and post-season play. He was also named to the 2A TABC All-Region and State Teams.
Fellow senior Bryce Grahn was named the Defensive MVP for District 2-2A for his outstanding defensive play. Grahn demonstrated his defensive awareness each game during the season and the playoffs. He was also named to the 2A TABC All-Region Team. Joining Johnson and Grahn on the All-Region Team is senior Chance Lockhart. Lockhart has been a solid player for four years at CHS and has been the go-to man for the three ball all season. He was also named to the All-District Team. All three seniors were named to the Academic All-District and All-State Teams as well.
Junior Colt Wood is another player that has been named to the All-District Team. Wood’s play on the court has been solid as well and he will be back for one more season with the Broncos. Bear Smith and Keandre Cortez were named as Honorable Mentions for the All-District Team.
All these young men have represented their school, community and sport well during this 2016-17-basketball season.
