The Clarendon Broncos are finding their rhythm as they defeat team after team on their District schedule.
The Broncos traveled to Nazareth and hosted Wellington last week. The Broncos breezed to a 16-5 win over Nazareth and blasted the Rockets 18-3.
Clay Koetting was on the mound for the Broncos against Nazareth and threw five strikeouts. For the four innings, he allowed six hits, four runs, and one walk. Kade Hunsaker pitched against the Rockets for three innings and had only one hit, no runs, one walk, and struck out four.
Reaping an early dominance in the Nazareth match, the Broncos stayed with their game plan taking the early lead in the first inning when Nick Shadle drove in two runs with a single.
A big third inning sealed the deal for the Broncos as they scored on a Swift error, and singles by Andy Davis and Josh Cobb. Davis was three for four from the plate on the day.
The Broncos racked up 10 hits with Davis and Cobb slamming numerous hits in the game. They also grabbed 10 stolen bases with Preston Elam nabbing two.
The Broncos continued their dominance against Wellington and got things going early.
A huge second inning gave the Broncos nine runs that began with a single by Koetting and one by Chance Lockhart. Nathan Shadle and Koetting each slammed a double to help as well.
The Broncos had their bats going against the Rockets and finished the game with a total of 13 hits. Clarendon also ran the bases hard and racked up several stolen bases with Nathan Shadle leading the charge with two.
The Broncos will continue their district schedule with two home games in a row. They will host Valley on Friday, April 8, and Kress on Tuesday, April 11.
