Lynn D. Spier passed from this life on Friday, February 23, 2018.
Mr. Spier was born on April 11, 1942, in Dumas, Texas to J. H. “Junior” and Wilma Spier. He was a 1960 graduate of Clarendon High School and received his Bachelors of Business Administration from North Texas University in 1965. In 1965 he was drafted into the United States Army. He was a Sgt. in the Military Intelligence and received National Defense Service Medal, Sharp Shooter Badge and Marksmans Badge. After his military service, he was employed by the Peace Corps for many years and later resided in the Washington D.C. area prior to moving to Howardwick, Texas in 2011.
Lynn was a man of great heart who loved art, music and most of all making friends. He is very fondly remembered by family and friends from across the United States for his kindness and generosity. He was a world traveler who embraced new cultures and friends where ever he went.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Delaney of Fairfax, VA and two brothers, Bill Spier and wife Darlene, and Mike Spier and wife Neva, all of Clarendon, Texas. Four nieces: Gina Reeves, Brigett Kash, Nicole Rivera, and NeAnne Clinton and two nephews; Darren Spier and Hunter Spier.
Mr. Spier will be cremated and in lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Clarendon Senior Citizens, Clarendon TX, the ASPCA or any charity of your choice.
