Lee Roy Jackson, 84, of Howardwick died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, in Howardwick.
Services were held Friday, June 1, 2018, in the First Baptist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Lance Wood, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00-5:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Lee was born July 5, 1933, in Pittsburg County, Okla., to Roy Calvin and Goldie Francis Jackson. He married Tiva Meeks in 1987. He has been a resident of Donley County most of his life. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon where he helped with the clothes closet and the College ministry. He delivered meals on wheels. When he built his log cabin in Howardwick, he hired students from the college to help pay for their tuition.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Della Ray.
He is survived by his wife Tiva Jackson of Howardwick; a son, Gary Jackson and wife Debbie of Amarillo; a daughter, Tricia Jackson of Amarillo; 2 step sons, Bobby Boyett and wife Jane of Plano and Tim Boyett of Frisco; a sister, Peggy Svensson and husband Gus of Garland; his grandchildren, Angela Zetonny and husband Doug of Amarillo, Brittany Gaines and husband Kevin of Amarillo, Bryan Jackson and wife Jennifer of Amarillo, Brennan Boyett and wife Christina of Dallas, Shelby Cook and husband Cameron of New Jersey, and Tyler Boyett of Tyler; and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be sent to the Donley County Senior Citizens or First Baptist Church of Clarendon, Clothes Closet Ministry.
