Jimmy Wayne Swinney, 79, of Clarendon died on Friday, February 1, 2019, in Amarillo.
Memorial Services were held on Monday, February 4, 2019, in Robertson Funeral Directors Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Stan Leffew, officiating.
Cremation & Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Jimmy was born December 29, 1939, in Hedley to Dalton Howard and Mary Lucille Parker Swinney. He was a US Navy veteran and also served as a peace officer for several years. He had been a resident of Clarendon and Donley County most of his life and had lived in Guymon, Oklahoma for 20 years. He loved roping and walking. Jimmy was a member of VFW Post 7782 in Clarendon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry Swinney; and a sister, Cydne Randall.
He is survived by his son, Shane Swinney of Amarillo; a daughter Tami Gilliam and husband Gary of Saratoga, Texas; a sister, Jackie Page of Sulphur Springs; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
