Jewell Edwards Judd of Clarendon passed away in Amarillo on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the age of 93.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Lance Wood, officiating. Private burial will be at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Jewell was born November 4, 1926, in Oklahoma to James Thomas and Carrie Bell Turner Edwards. Jewell was one of eleven children born in the Edwards’ household. She married Preston Colvin “Snooks” Judd on April 8, 1948, in Wellington. Jewell moved from Amarillo to Clarendon in 1971 when she and her husband purchased a farm in Donley County. She had been a housewife most of her life while they lived on the farm.
Jewell loved fishing, being outdoors, and especially loved working out in the yard with her flowers and plants. Jewell also loved singing and playing the guitar. Jewell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, James and Carrie Edwards; her husband Preston “Snooks” Judd; by a son, Randall Judd in 1969; and by 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, Calvin Judd and wife Janice of Amarillo; a daughter Gale Jones of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Mike Judd, Rocky Jones, and Rhonda Lane; 12 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and close friends, Terri Luna, Rosemary Winters, and Wanda Dromgoole.
