Donald “Donnie” Mark Putman

Donald “Donnie” Mark Putman, 65, of Sanger passed away on December 15, 2020 in Denton Texas. He was born on September 6, 1955 in Clarendon, Texas to L.M. Jr. and Norma Putman.

As a teen Donnie earned his Eagle Scout, which is the highest achievement in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Clarendon High School in 1974 and went directly into the workforce. After both his daughters were born they moved to Crowell, where he dutifully and faithfully served the people of Foard County in multiple roles. One role he took the most pride in was his role as the Crowell Volunteer Fire Department Chief. Donnie was devoted to his wife of almost 44 years and to his two daughters. He loved to watch his granddaughters activities, and was always an active spectator and supporter. Donnie was a great “girl dad and granddad”. In 2019 he retired from Krum ISD, but still continued to drive/monitor on the special needs bus where his heart was. He and Darla enjoyed their semi-retirement and the flexibility it provided to be actively involved in their granddaughters lives and activities.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Darla Putman of Sanger, 2 daughters, Courtney Putman-Carey and her husband Bobby of Denton and Ashley Putman-Doyal and her husband Dale of Ponder, Texas, one sister Jullie Milam and her husband Tom of Panhandle, Texas, and one brother Terry Putman and his wife, Cindy of Las Vegas, NV. His pride and joy were his five grandchildren. Kyla Doyal, Raylee Carey, Ryann Belle Carey, Lexie Doyal, and Jessa Doyal. 4 Nephews and 5 Nieces as well as several great nieces and nephews, multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and one sister, Marcia Putman.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, December 28, 2020, at Crowell Cemeter in Crowell.
