Robert (Robin) James Harmon of Hedley, Texas, was born June 7, 1945, to Lollabelle and R.J. Harmon in Matador. He passed away in his home on February 24,2022.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Robin attended school at Quitaque High School. Then attended Clarendon College for two years. He then went into the United States Army and became a Military Police. While in the Army he served two years in Vietnam. Robin earned several medals while enlisted. He received Sharp Shooter; National Defense Medal; Vietnam Service Medal as well. After leaving the Army he returned to Texas and went to Texas Tech for one year. He became employed with the County Extension Office for several years. After that time Robin went and worked at Panhandle Compress where his father has worked for many years. Upon leaving the Compress, Robin served many years working for the USDA as an Inspector.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great grandfather.
Robin was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rhonda Langdon, a son Dusty Allen, and grandson Zachary Chapman.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Shields Harmon of 29 years of the home, a son Robby Harmon of Richman Texas, a daughter Traci Barr and Husband John of Glen Mills Pennsylvania, Tony and Jennifer Floyd of Hedley , Kandy and Denny Pounds of Guthrie . Sandy and Natalie Baca of Aztec, New Mexico,Brother Rex and Elaine Harmon of Quitaque, brother-in- law Danny Shields and Mary of Goodnight, sister-in-law James and Nancy Mahaffey of Amarillo, and Johnny and Jerry Robinson of Breckenridge, 29 grandkids, 25 great grandkids as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
