A 5K walk/run and a Community Easter Event will be held at the Donley County Courthouse this Saturday, April 9, as the Clarendon Lions Club and the Clarendon Elementary Pony Parents team up for two fun events.
The morning will start off with the tenth annual Chance Mark Jones Roar & Run 5K at 8:30 a.m.
The race seeks to raise awareness of Child Abuse and is held in honor of the late Chance Mark Jones, who passed away in January 2011 as a result of abuse.
Registration for the Roar & Run 5K are open through the day of the event for $30.
Race and plunge registrations are available at the Clarendon Visitor Center at the Mulkey Theatre, at the Enterprise, or online at https://bit.ly/2Qp85lE.
For more 5K information, contact Lion Roger Estlack at 806-874-2259.
Following the 5K awards presentation, the Pony Parents’ first Community Easter event will also be held on the Courthouse lawn beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until 1 p.m.
Free egg hunts will be held for kids ages 11 and under with two free bicycles being given in each age category.
The Easter event will also feature carnival games and bounce houses that can be enjoyed by the kids with the purchase of a wristband.
Shonda’s Snack Shack and HUD’s Food Truck will also be set up with food and refreshments all morning.
