Clarendon area residents are being asked to help alleviate a critical blood shortage by making donations today, January 23, at the Coffee Memorial Blood Center Bloodmobile.
The bloodmobile will be available from noon to 5 p.m. at Lowe’s Family Center. For your appointment, go to obi.org or call 1-877-340-8777.
Below freezing temperatures and winter precipitation continue to impact CMBC’s blood collections systemwide. For a second week, Our Blood Institute, of which CMBC is a part, is facing cancelled donation appointments and blood drives. The extended Emergency Blood Shortage could impact hospitals and patients desperately in need.
While bad weather is keeping donors at home, hospital and patient needs for lifesaving blood product are unending. Accidents are still happening, blood transfusions for cancer patients continue and the need never stops. CMBC greatly appreciates its donors who have heard the call and stepped up to donate in recent days.
Coffee Memorial Blood Center is the sole provider of blood to the Texas Panhandle.
Successful donors will receive a short-sleeved, glow-in-the-dark “When I’m Not Hibernating, I’m Donating Blood” T-shirt and one free voucher to Escape the Traphouse.
