As the Lady Broncos’ regular season nears the end, they will begin to look toward the playoffs. The ladies are in a good spot and are looking to go deep in post-season play.
The Lady Broncos earned two wins last week over Memphis and Shamrock on the road. They defeated the Cyclones 64-12 and demolished the Irish 78-17. The ladies have been executing offensively at a high level the entire season and have used their quickness on the defensive side to get stops and cause turnovers. They will build on that as they end their regular schedule and look forward.
A huge start against Memphis put the Lady Broncos in a great spot to use several players in the game. Their free throw percentage was just under 50 percent in the game which is lower than their normal, but they were able to turn six three-pointers which has been part of their offensive arsenal all season. Six different players had success with the three-ball and Kashlyn Conkin and Kennadie Cummins put in two each with Berkley Moore and Kenidee Hayes adding one apiece. Hays and Tandie Cummins were perfect at the free throw line as well.
Memphis was defenseless against the Lady Broncos who brought a lot of intensity and quickness on both ends of the court.Hayes put in 15 to lead the way and K. Conkin, K. Cummins and Kate
Shaw had eight each. Moore put in seven and Cambree Smith had six. Courtlyn Conkin, T. Cummins, and Graci Smith helped with four each, while Gracie Ellis added one.
The game with Shamrock was nearly identical to the game with Memphis as they ladies were able to make both offensive and defensive moves at will over the Lady Irish. Shamrock put them on the free throw line twenty-three times and they converted 16 of those. Moore and Hayes led the players on the scoreboard with 15 each with G. Smith and T. Cummins putting in 14 and 10 respectively. K. Cummins had eight, Shaw added six, and C. Conkin and C. Smith put in five each.
