The Broncos and Lady Broncos competed in the Lubbock Invitational Cross-Country Meet last weekend at Mae Simmons Park and ran very respectable times in their divisions.
The Lady Broncos’ team finished seventh with an overall time of 1:11:10.9 spread out between five runners. They were just under two minutes from the first-place team of Sundown whose team finished with a total team time of 1:09:18.1.

Madi Benson topped the Lady Bronco field with an eighth-place finish and a time of 13:16.7 out of 196 runners. Freshman Addy Havens was 13th at 13:33.9, and Elliot Frausto was 24th with a time of 14:01.6.
Gracie Ellis ran the two-mile course in a time of 14:14.7 and 32nd place, and Lexi Phillips finished in 108th place with a time of 16:04.1.

On the men’s side, Bryce Williams ran the three-mile course in a time of 18:10.4 for seventh place, and Trysten Ybarra ran eighth with a time of 18:23.2 out of 177 division 2A runners.
The Broncos and Lady Broncos will run September 14 in the Badger Run at John Stiff Park or the Groom Invitational at ‘The Cross’. The junior high Colts and Lady Colts will run in Groom.
