The Lady Broncos had no problem on the court against the Wheeler Lady Mustangs and took an 84-20 win at home last Friday night.
From the tip-off, the Lady Broncos had the game under control and scored at will against the Lady Stangs. Their aggressive defense stand allowed them to create several turnovers and score big points on their steals. Wheeler was never in the game due to the Lady Broncos’ strong play on both ends of the court.
Kashlyn Conkin led all scorers and pumped in six three-pointers to finish with 20, and Kate Shaw’s hard work in the paint paid off with 14 points and two out of three bonus points. Kenidee Hayes played well and posted 13 points and Kennadie Cummins came in with 10 and was 100 percent from the free throw line.
Madi Benson and Berkley Moore helped with seven points each, Tandie Cummins had five, and Hayden Elam and Gracie Ellis added four apiece.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Broncos took on number two ranked Panhandle and were defeated 26-53. Things did not go the way the ladies wanted and shots would not fall. The Pantherettes did everything right and held the Lady Broncos at bay. Shaw led the way with 14 that included one from the arc, and 75 percent from the free throw line. Hayes and Elam had five each and T. Cummins put in two.
The Lady Broncos are nearing the end of regular season play and will play Wellington at home January 24. They will travel to Highland Park January 28 with games beginning at 6:30 p.m
