Frank William Corder, Sr., 84, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in Clarendon.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Patrick Robertson officiating. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Frank was born May 31, 1927, to Charles and Sarah Corder in Amarillo. He married the former Vivian Marie Wiggins on February 18, 1953, in Paris, TX. Frank worked as a Warehouseman and Shipping Clerk at Vinson Supply for 25 years before retiring in 1977 to the farm in Donley County. He served in the United States Army – Armed Forces tour in Germany. While in Amarillo, he coached and refereed sports for Kids, Inc. and he loved all sports. Frank loved all his family and felt God had truly blessed his, and he had no regrets with choices he made in his life, and Frank said, “Without my family, I’m nothing”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Vivian Marie Corder Hatfield in 2001 and her husband, Stephen Edward Hatfield in 2000; his beloved great-grandfather, William Henry Corder; one brother; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Corder; his son, Frank William Corder, JR; his daughter, Kathy Lynn Corder Swanson and husband Orville James; four grandsons, William Henry Corder, James Edward Swanson, Richard Eugene Corder, and David Seth Corder; his great-granddaughter, Heather Renee Swanson; his great-grandson, James Ray Swanson; two brothers, David Roy Corder and Troy “Fat” Lee Corder; two sisters, Ruth Corder Price and Sarah Jane Corder Geary; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and let’s not forget his faithful dog, Blue.
