Marshall Denney, age 88 of Clarendon died Friday, March 16, 2012, in Clarendon.
Services were held at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in the Clarendon Church of Christ with Chris Moore, officiating. Burial with US Navy Honors was in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with arrangements by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Marshall was born December 28, 1923, in Addington, Okla., to Claude Douglas and Maude Carter Denney. He was a US Navy veteran serving during World War II. He married Dorris Jo Bolton on October 2, 1943, in Hagerman, New Mexico. He had been a cotton ginner prior to his retirement and had been a resident of Clarendon since 1975. He was a member of the Clarendon Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on February 15, 2010; four brothers, and four sisters.
His was survived by three sons, Joe Denney of Lindsay, Calif., Gene Denney of Clarendon, and Larry Denney of Grand Junction, Colo.; two daughters, Marsha Albert of Dalhart and Debborah Spohn of Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother, John Douglas Denney of Bakersfield, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
