Frankie Grace McAnear, 90, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in Clarendon.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008, in the Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories in Clarendon with Rev. Lance Wood, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was held at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mrs. McAnear was born July 21, 1917, in Hasse, a small community in Comanche County, to Mr. and Mrs. D.T. Smallwood. She lived in Hasse until she was seven years old, and then she moved with her family to the Brice community in Hall County in 1924. She lived in Brice until she married Jessie Granville McAnear on December 21, 1937, in Clarendon. She had been a resident of Clarendon ever since. She was a housewife and a mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband on November 26, 1996; a daughter, Iva Jean Echols; her parents; and a sister, Claudine Todd.
Survivors include three sons, Dwight McAnear and wife Sharon of Durango, Colo., Ronnie McAnear and wife Melinda of Clarendon, and Freddie McAnear and wife Marsha of Pearland; a sister, Mamie Cross of Amarillo; ten grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
