David Dalton May, 87, died Friday, August 15, 2008, in Amarillo.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Memphis with Rev. Brent Horton, family member, officiating. Burial was held at Newlin Cemetery in Newlin. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
David was born December 23, 1920, in Plain Dealing, Lou. to Corbie David and Dessie Lee Lewis May. He married Louise Potts in February of 1944, at Claude. David had been a farmer for many years and had been a resident of Memphis for over 80 years. He was a World War II Veteran where he had served with the US Army Air Corps. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James and G.W. May.
Survivors include his wife, Louise May of Memphis; two daughters, Marilyn Jo Carter of Clovis, New Mexico, Jeanette Mitchell and husband Royse of San Angelo, Texas; two sons, David Dwayne May and wife Donna of Brenham, Texas, Donald Wayne May and wife Marcia of Flower Mound, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
