Elizabeth Dawkins, 90, died Monday, April 28, 2008, in Claude.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Claude Cemetery in Claude with Kent Watson, Minister of the Claude Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was at Claude Cemetery in Claude. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Elizabeth was born October 21, 1917, in Armstrong County to Charles and Blanch Braddock Hamel. She married Jack Ray Dawkins on November 11, 1934, at Claude. She had been a lifetime resident of Claude and Armstrong County. She loved to sew and make stuffed toys. She was raised as a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in October 1993; and a daughter, Bettye Eads.
Survivors include a son, D.L. Dawkins of Claude; one daughter, Lossie McGuyrt of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Jim of Amarillo, and Andrew of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Edna of Amarillo, and Emma Lue of El Paso; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
