Arthur Royce Brown, Sr.

Arthur Royce Brown, Sr., age 77, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Groom.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Groom Cemetery in Groom with Rev. Bill Hodges, pastor of the Nazarene Church in Clarendon, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Arthur Royce Brown, Sr., was born to William Augustas and Margret Missouri Finch Brown on July 17, 1935, in Chillicothe. He married Axie Lillian Mae Holt on August 24, 1953 in Vernon.

They had eight children. Arthur enjoyed playing dominoes at area Senior Citizen Centers and loved to visit with his family. He retired as a Finished Motor Grader Operator, working for various companies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian on March 4, 2004; a daughter Ellen Margaret Mason; and by seven siblings.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond Brown and wife Dee of Groom, Arthur Brown, Jr. and wife Rebecca of Snyder, Texas, Jimbo Brown of Groom, and Scott Brown and wife Pam of Lefors; three daughters, Paula Brown of Groom, Jeanie Wakefield and husband Bobby of El Reno, Okla., Neva Cheng and husband Marin of El Dorado, Ark.; one sisters, Pauline Littleton of Ore., Jean Worley of Vernon, Carolyn Lance of Childress; one brother, Steve Brown of Chillicothe; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family request memorials be sent to the Groom Ambulance, Clarendon Senior Citizens, or to a favorite charity.
