The City of Clarendon rescinded its Boil Water notice to citizens Thursday afternoon, December 6.
On Tuesday evening, December 4, the city followed Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) guidelines and issued a Boil Water Notice (BWN) following an interruption in water service that resulted in a loss of pressure across the system.
City Hall says it has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of 2:00 pm on December 06, 2012.
City officials recommend that customers run water for a minute or so to assure that water with the proper disinfectant residual can enter the customer’s service lines.
“The City of Clarendon works hard to provide outstanding water service,” said City Administrator Lambert Little. “We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their understanding and patience.”
For additional information, call City Hall at 806.874.3438. If a customer wishes to contact the TCEQ, they may call 512-239-4691.
