Lester Carrol Myers, 83, died Monday, March 25, 2013, in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lloyd Stice, Pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Les was born November 2, 1929, in Lelia Lake, Texas to Earl Ruppert and Jewel Wall Myers. He married Lou White on February 11, 1949, in Clarendon. Les received his master’s degree and was employed by Pantex as a Department Manager. He had lived in Clarendon for 20 years before moving to Amarillo in June of 2012. He was a board member on the Saints’ Roost Museum in Clarendon, a member of the Ex-Students Association at Clarendon College, was a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America in Amarillo, was a member of the American Society of Quality Control, and was honored in the Who’s Who of Great American Scientists. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by both his brothers.
He is survived by his wife Lou Myers of Amarillo; 2 sons, Terry Myers and wife Wendy of Amarillo, Jimmy Myers of Amarillo; 1 daughter, Kathy Myers and fiancé Frank George, Jr. of Canyon; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
The family request memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon or to Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
