A pair of tractor-trailer rigs were wrecked last Tuesday, June 18, near Giles after a 2013 Dodge Avenger driven by Jerry Bailey of Pensacola, Florida, drove impatiently and aggressively when leaving the Donley County Safety Rest Area on the south side of US 287. According to DPS Trooper Chad Simpson’s report, Bailey illegally crossed the solid white stripe of the accelerating lane and struck the right wheel of one tractor-trailer, breaking its tire rod and causing it to crash into the side of the other tractor-trailer.
