Residents receiving subsidized health care through Title XX funding at Clarendon Family Medical Center will now have to travel to Amarillo to receive the same care at Planned Parenthood.
Due to legislative funding cuts, Planned Parenthood is no longer able to subcontract with the local clinic to provide birth control methods and screening services.
Planned Parenthood says it realizes this will be a hardship on some residents but says arrangements have been made for these residents to continue to receive health care.
The organization also encourages those affected to write State Rep. Warren Chisum at PO Box 2061, Pampa TX 79066, or call him at 665-3552 to let him know how these cuts have affected you.
