The Clarendon ISD Board of Trustees approved several new hires when it met in regular session on July 16.
The board acknowledged the resignations from the following employees: Librarian Sharon Elam, Family & Consumer Science teacher Missy Reynolds, and Coach and Special Education teacher Steve Reynolds.
Trustees then approved a motion to accept the Superintendent Monty Hysinger’s recommendation to offer professional contracts to the following: Brittany Monds, Junior High Science; Gwynne Howard, Family & Consumer Science; Tiffany Campbell, Junior High Special Ed.; and Buffie Smith, Librarian.
In other school business, the board approved the Region 16 ESC contracts for the 2013-2014 school year and updated local policies as recommended by the Texas Association of School Boards
The Student Code of Conduct for CISD and each campuses’ student handbooks were approved for the 2013-2014 school year.
Trustees also approved the Teachers Appraisal Calendar for 2013-2014 and the list of Teacher Appraisers.
A bid on tax delinquent property located at Lot 115, Apache, Howardwick, from David P. Elizalde for $2,391 was accepted as presented.
The superintendent conducted a tour of the campus with the board members to view the summer repairs and renovations projects and to look at possible future facility needs.
