A new barn owned by Dan Sawyer and located north of Clarendon is consumed by flames Monday evening. Clarendon volunteer firemen were paged at 6:52 p.m. and were quickly on the scene, but the structure was fully involved. Firemen were able to protect Sawyer’s nearby residence from any fire or heat damage, and the barn fire was full extinguished by 8:45. Hedley and Howardwick fire departments provided mutual aid.
