The Lady Broncos struggled through a slow-shooting game and cruised to a win at home last week over the Quanah Lady Indians at 47-21. The ladies played a great defensive game and stopped Quanah from finding a rhythm offensively. According to head coach Molly Weatherred, the ladies’ defensive effort was on target and aided in the win.
“I was very proud of the girls’ effort,” she said. “I thought they really played hard. Our defense did a great job of creating turnovers, which lead to easy layup and that was very good for us since we were not shooting the ball well.”
Taylor Gaines and Ryann Starnes led the ladies to the win with 16 and 11 points respectively. Taylor Degrate added seven and Deborah Howard had six. Brittney Braim finished with five points, and Camera Smith helped with two.
The Lady Broncos will take on Perryton on the road December 6 at 6:00 p.m. and play Canadian at home December 10.
