The Clarendon College Theatre Department will present their Spring Theatre production “The 1959 Pink Thunderbird” April 12, 13, and 15.
This production is made up of two one-act play pieces originally written by James McLure and adapted by CC Theatre Director Leslie Schnaufer.
The adult comedy selections both take place in a small Texas town in the 1970s. The first play presented will be “Laundry & Bourbon,” where we listen in on some colorful Texas gals gossiping and discussing the changes in their lives. The second hilarious play will be “Lone Star,” a play that finds their husbands trying to recapture their glory days. Both plays shine light on the many levels of friendship.
“Laundry & Bourbon” features Samantha Sanderson and Amanda Powell of Clarendon; Samantha Green of Shamrock; Mikila Silvey of Quanah; Michelle Richards of Arlington; Scottie Jo Rodriguez of Elkhart, Kansas; and Heather Brandenburg of Garland.
“Lone Star” features David Bell of Quail; Riley Wilson of Anahuac; and Will Stubbs of Corsicana.
Technical students for these performances include Walker Loyd of Stephenville; Bridgett Cason, Matthew Martinez, Brandon McAfee, and Adam Topper of Clarendon; and Casey Heck of Turkey.
Another feature of this production will be “The Great Car Show Off” on Sunday, April 13. If you have a great car, pick-up, hot rod or junker you are invited to show it off and receive free tickets to the show for you and your family. An area will be blocked off in the Fine Arts parking lot for the cars.

Performances are scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m.; and Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in the Harned Sisters Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
