The Clarendon Broncos are ready. Their early August practices are paying off as the Broncos gear up for the upcoming season. They went up against Bovina last Friday in their first scrimmage of the year with good results, according to head coach Gary Jack.
“We saw some things that are developing,” Jack said. “We saw a lot of good things, and we saw some things we need to work on.”
For the most part, Jack was pleased with the effort of his young team and hopes to build on what the Broncos have achieved so far.
“The scrimmage was called because of bad weather,” Jack said. “We would have liked to have had the opportunity to play more, but we have another scrimmage with Electra this week.”
The Broncos will travel to Electra for another scrimmage on Friday, August 22, and will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Jack added a special note concerning equipment for the 7th and 8th grade Colt football teams.
“We will be issuing equipment for the 7th and 8th graders next Saturday morning, August 23, at 9:00 at the field house.”
All 7th and 8th grade boys wanting to play football must be at the field house at that time to receive their equipment.
