The Lady Broncos made it look easy against West Texas High at home last Saturday, April 4, winning 17-7 in five innings. Briley Chadwick was on the mound for the Lady Broncos, and Allyson Hogan was behind the plate.
“Briley pitched the whole game and did well,” Jack said. “Allyson caught a very good game.”
According to Jack, several players hit the ball well.
“Taylor DeGrate, Skyler White, Chadwick, Hogan, and Zaryia Smith did a good job hitting the ball and our defense played a solid game as well,” Jack said.
Jack feels the Lady Broncos are in a very good position for the playoffs with a 5-1-district record and 8-3 overall.
Earlier in the week, the ladies faced a tough, undefeated Follett team and were defeated 3-15.
“This game was close until the sixth inning,” Jack said. “We went into that inning trailing 3-6 and playing well. Follett has the best pitcher in this area, but we hit her some. We left 10 runners on base and made too many errors to win the game.”
Jack cited DeGrate, Brittney McAnear, and Chadwick with hitting the ball well.
The Lady Broncos will travel to McLean Friday, April 10, and play Booker at home on Tuesday, April 14, with both games at 4:00 p.m.
