Mr. Carrol Kennedy, age. 69, of Colorado City, died Sunday morning, May 17, 2015, in a local hospital. Services will be at 10 AM Tuesday in the Kiker-Seale Chapel with Dr. Jerry Shields officiating. Burial will be at 3 PM Tuesday in the Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Carrol was born December 9, 1945, in Memphis, Texas to James Marvin and Eva Leon Nivens Kennedy and had been a resident of Colorado City since 1987. He married Mary Ellen Hammond on May 28, 1987, in Hedley, Texas. He was a retired construction superintendent having worked in Borger, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, Alpine, San Angelo, Childress, Clarendon area, Big Spring, Abilene, Colorado City and DeRidder, LA. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Hedley, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Kennedy of Colorado City, a son Marvin Craig and wife, Nancy Kennedy of Frederick, OK; five daughters: Selena and husband, Douglas of Frederick, OK, Misty Carrol Dryden of Spring, TX; Lori Hammond of Midland, TX, Sue and husband, Jim Hobbs of Midland, TX and Sherri and husband, Mike Fuller of Albuquerque, NM; a sisters: Cleta Davis of Conway, AR; and a sister-in-law, Ann Kennedy of Hedley, Texas; twelve grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two brothers: Perry Glyn Kennedy and Cecil Hoyce Kennedy.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
