Friends and family of Riley Shadle have big plans for a benefit for the young man this Saturday, January 23, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Donley County Activity Center.
The event will and will feature food, games, and live music; and auctions planned that day have drawn some major donations.
Auction items include three footballs signed by the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers tickets and parking pass good for any game, four luxury suite tickets with parking pass for the Dallas Stars on February 6, a .22 rifle, a gun safe, a dart board set in a wooden case from Budwieser, canvass art, photo sessions, and more.
Top of Texas Auctioneers will handle the sale at the event with a silent auction on some items running throughout the event, and live auction on big ticket items at about 5 p.m.
Charles Clinton and the Optimistics will be the featured band for the evening, preceded by the Texas Pearl Snaps. Other activities include a bounce house and a horseshoe tournament.
All the proceeds will benefit the family of Riley Shadle, who suffered a severe neck injury during the Clarendon-Lockney football game last fall and is now hospitalized in Denver.
Those who are unable to attend may make a contribution to the Riley Shadle Fund at the Donley County State Bank.
