The Clarendon Bronco baseball team traveled to Amarillo Thursday, March 17, to take on the San Jacinto Patriots.
Despite playing a good game, the Broncos were defeated 3-9. A costly error by the Broncos proved to be golden for the Patriots as they were able to score four runs in the fourth inning. SJ racked up seven hits and five RBI’s in the win.
The Broncos held the early lead in the second inning when Nick Shadle hit a double and the top of the fifth proved favorable when they scored two more runs to trail 3-5. After Caleb Cobb hit a two-run single, San Jacinto was able to stop the rally when Kade Hunsaker grounded out and the Broncos took the loss.
The Broncos will be on the road this week with a game in Childress on Friday, in Valley on Saturday, and in Memphis on March 29.
