Dan Tims, 91, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Amarillo.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in the First Baptist Church in Claude with Rev. Clyde Morgan and Rev. Dick Gravley, officiating.
Private family burial followed in Claude Cemetery in Claude.
Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Chapel of Claude.
Dan was born September 20, 1924, in Donley County to Leslie Charles and Ruth Perdue Tims. He married Erma Lea Elliott on September 6, 1947, in Memphis. He had been a resident of Claude since 1959 where he was a farmer and cattleman and retired when he was 80. He was a Farm Bureau board member and was a member and trustee of First Baptist Church in Claude. In 1990, he was awarded the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Conservationist of the Year and the Fort Worth Press Conservationist of the Year, Conservation Farmer, Staked Plains SWCD #155.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Velma Williamson.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Lea Tims of Claude; a son, Jerry Tims of Plano; a daughter, Pam Forbes and husband Mike of Arlington; a brother, Clyde Tims of Sunray; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
