The Clarendon Broncos have had a stellar season and they are not finished yet.
They took on Wheeler in their last regular season game and defeated them, 60-47.
The Broncos were strong out of the gate against the Mustangs as they shot the ball well and put in 21 points to only 9 for Wheeler in the first quarter of play. Defensively, the Broncos stayed focused and were able to keep their opponent in check for entire game. The Mustangs outscored the Broncos in the third quarter, but Clarendon had the game in control.
Chance Lockhart was on fire and put in 16 and Colt Wood helped with 11. Lockhart also had two assists and two steals in the game. Wood was strong on defense with three deflections. Keandre went seven out of eight from the bonus line and finished with nine points, and Bear Smith added eight. Smith also had seven rebounds and one deflection.
Marshal Johnson worked hard inside and had eight points and led the Broncos with 10 rebounds. Bryce Grahn had six points, two assists, and three steals and Damarjae Cortez helped with two points.
“We did a good job of playing defense and getting offensive rebounds,” coach Brandt Lockhart said. “I am very proud of the players. It is hard to go undefeated in district.”
The Broncos will continue with post-season play and are looking to go deep in the playoffs.
