The Clarendon College Meats Judging Team had a stellar performance at the Houston Livestock Show over the weekend.
The green team won the first place championship with a total of 3,663 points, and the white team placed fourth overall in the meats judging competition with 3,555 points.
The CC green team placed first in beef grading, third in lamb judging, second in pork judging and beef judging, first in overall beef, third in total placing, and third in reasons and questions. The CC white team was second in beef grading, fourth in lamb judging, fifth in pork judging, fourth in beef judging, third in overall beef, fifth in total placing, and fourth in reasons and questions.
Individual team members also scored well. Mario Alvarez was High Individual, Brett Dixon was third high individual, Abram Chaparro was fifth high, Austin Trent was seventh high, and Wilse Corliss tied for 10th.
Other members are Dylan Avant, Sherri Halsted, Catherine Luft, MacKenle Ebner, and Lynzee Jordan.
