Fish tale May 10, 2017 by Morgan Wheatly Leave a Comment Brandon Early with Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Dundee State Fish Hatchery stocked approximately 1.3 million walleye into Lake Greenbelt last Thursday to improve the fishing at the lake after the walleye was hurt by the drought. Officials hope five to 10 percent of the baby fish will survive. Greenbelt General Manager Bobbie Kidd said small bass in the 10-12 inch range are being caught frequently and that crappie are biting very well right now. The lake came up about 1.5 feet over the winter and is currently sitting at 53.32 feet, Kidd said. Enterprise photo / Tara Allred
