Christopher Reed Reynolds passed away in Jourdanton, Texas, on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 60. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 20, 1964, to Hal Victor and Henrietta (Adkins) Reynolds.
Chris had a unique gift for finding people and making connections that lasted a lifetime. He was known for his big heart, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Friends would often seek him out for help, knowing they could count on his support. His faith in God and dedication to serving others made him loved by many. A true family man, Chris adored his wife, Gayla, and his sons, whom he always reminded he loved. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them, even if it was just watching movies with his boys. Chris was always known to give the biggest and best bear hugs!
An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Chris loved hunting deer, turkey, and dove, and he found peace in camping and soaking up nature. He loved to plan their annual summer vacation to the mountains and he and Gayla loved driving through the forests of New Mexico and Colorado. His love for animals, especially his pets, showed just how caring he was in every aspect of his life.
Chris worked in construction, the oil field, and trucking, bringing his hardworking spirit to every job he undertook. He built a life full of laughter, love, and lifelong friendships.
Christopher is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Gayla Clifford Reynolds; sons, James Reynolds and William Reynolds; his mother, Henrietta Reynolds; brothers, Lance Reynolds and Scott Reynolds (Melissa); nieces and nephews, Casey Reynolds, Erin Reynolds, Alexis Reynolds, Grant Reynolds, Trent Reynolds and Victoria Zinkgraf (Bobby Duke); sister-in-law, Trisha Clifford; nieces and nephews, Megan Pope, Shelby Pope (Mavrick Jewell), and Ruthie Bell, along with numerous friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hal Victor Reynolds; maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Helen Adkins; paternal grandparents, Nola Reynolds and William Reynolds; and in-laws, Fred and Connie Clifford.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2025, starting with a visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 .pm. with a celebration of life at 4:30 pm, all at Hurley Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Citizens Cemetery located 1.1 miles south of US Hwy 287 (E. 2nd St) on State Highway 70 (S. Orpe St), in Clarendon, Texas.
