Erma Lee Farris Young, 71, died on December 2, 2007, in Wichita Falls. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home with Raymon Huston of Edmond, Okla. officiating. A private burial was held following the services.
Erma was born in Hedley to Woodrow and Ora Pearl Farris on December 31, 1935. She graduated from Quail High School in 1954 and went on to receive a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from West Texas A&M. She then moved to Wichita Falls to teach at Jefferson Elementary. Erma married Don Young in 1962. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and worshipped at Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always thought of others before herself, and she had a love of art that manifested itself through her amazing paintings. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Erma is survived by her husband Don of Wichita Falls; a son, Landon Young of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Melissa Huston of Edmond, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Macy, Kinsey, Brandon, and Sara.
