Funeral services for Herman Arlis Cross, age 88, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, in the Memphis Church Of Christ with Tom Anderson, Minister, officiating. Interment was held Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mr. Cross died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, in Memphis. He was born May 9, 1916, in Tulia to Cecil Ray and Alma Hudson Cross. He was a resident of Clarendon before moving to Memphis in 1973. He married Ernestine Lemons on November 24, 1945, at Childress. He was in the service station business for much of his life before his retirement. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Memphis Church Of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Cross of Memphis; one daughter, Annette Osburn and husband Benny of Clarendon; one grandson, Blake Osburn and wife Erin and great granddaughter, Kailee Joanne all of Clarendon; two brothers, C. Ray Cross and wife Betty of Rancho Mirage, California; and Murry Cross and wife Mary of St. Petersburg, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials to the Citizens Cemetery Association in Clarendon or the Memphis EMS.
