Funeral services for Chester Leon Bohlar, age 75, were held at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, with Brian Quisenberry, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey-Ware Funeral Home in McLean.
Mr. Bohlar died Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in Amarillo. He was born January 19, 1930, to Charlie and Mary Bohlar in Collingsworth County. He married Jean Cannon on May 23, 1949, in Canadian, Texas. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for the City of McLean for many years until he retired in 1998. He also owned the Cicero-Smith Lumber Yard in McLean.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Bohlar, in September 2000.
Survivors include three daughters, Toni Bohlar of McLean, Connie McKinney and husband Edward of Clarendon, and Beck Sheppard and husband Randy of Hobbs, New Mexico; one son, Chet Bohlar and wife Sally of McLean; three brothers, Charles Bohlar of Oklahoma City, James Bohlar of Houston, and Darrow Bohlar of Shamrock; one sister, Betty Rawlings of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to BSA Hospice, 600 N. Tyler, Amarillo, TX 79105.
