Funeral services for Raymond Franklin “Toby” Woodard, age 75, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, in the First Baptist Church in Hedley with Rev. Bruce Howard, Pastor, officiating. Burial was held in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mr. Woodard died Sunday, November 27, 2005, in Hedley. He was born January 18, 1930, in Slocum, Texas, and was a Canyon resident before moving to Hedley 42 years ago. He married Naomi Joyce Sanders on May 23, 1953, at Hedley. He was a heavy equipment operator for Gilvin-Terrell Construction Company prior to his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hedley.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Hedley; two daughters, Kim King and husband Johnny and Twannah Hall and husband Eric, all of Hedley; two sons, Raymond H. Woodard and wife Nancy and Randy Woodard, all of Hedley; one sister, Janeda Gay of Lefors; one brother, Johnny Woodard of Lefors; and eight grandchildren, Rachel, Christina, Nick, Kasi, Megan, Julie, Haley, and Clay.
Casket bearers were James Potts, Billy Wiggins, Terry Simpson, Kenneth Housden, Charlie McGuire, Tracy Sanders, Thomas Gay, and Jarrell Rice.
The family requests that memorials be to the Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo or to BSA Hospice in Pampa.
