Funeral services for Wanda Jeanette Trout Hill, age 50, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, in the First Baptist Church in Clarendon with Dr. Buddy Young, Interim Pastor, and Rev. Truman Ledbetter of Claude, officiating. Burial was held in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Hill died Monday, December 12, 2005, in Amarillo. She was born June 25, 1955, in Pampa and was a lifelong Donley County resident. She was a 1973 graduate of Clarendon High School and was a public school teacher. She married Clayton Lee “Chuck” Hill on October 20, 1979, in Clarendon. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1993.
Survivors include her parents, Bob and Cula Jo Trout of Clarendon; two sisters, Valorie Ashcraft and husband Terry and Pat White and husband Bob, all of Clarendon; nieces and nephews, Shane and Mecca Ashcraft of Dimmitt; Mandi and Michael Gay and their children Madisen and Alex of Havelock, North Carolina; Aaron Ashcraft of Havelock, North Carolina; Kasi and Gary Anderson of Amarillo; Holli White of Amarillo; Jennifer and Jason Sargent and their children Marlee, Jasie, and Zack of Hedley; Janna and Johnny Hoggatt and their children Nathan and Clay of Canyon; Matt Hill of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Karlee Hill of Lake Jackson; Ashlee Hill of Amarillo; Lauren Hill of Hedley; Allison Hill of Hedley; Lance and Michelle Hill and their children Melissa and Riley of El Paso.
Casket bearers were E. Wayne Barbee, Steve Carter, Danny Holland, John Holland, Patrick Robertson, Joe Neal Shadle, Russell Keown, Steve McAfee, and Ricky Rattan.
The family requests the memorials be to the Chuck and Wanda Hill Scholarship Fund at Hedley High School or BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
