Funeral services for Lloyd F. Risley, age 90, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2004, in Robertson Chapel of Memories with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Pastor of Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial was held in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mr. Risley died Thursday, August 26, 2004, in Clarendon. He was born July 23, 1914, in the Martin Community to Adam and Icy Risley. He was a lifetime resident of Donley County. He married Melba Johnston on November 23, 1935, and they were married for 64 years until her death in December 1999. He was an implement dealer, grain elevator operator, and farmer.
Survivors include his brother and sister, Maurice Risley and Clara Lohoefer, both of Clarendon; his children, Lloyd Virgil Risley of Amarillo, Jo Shaller of Clarendon, Leane Thornberry of Lubbock, and Jim Risley of Denver City, Texas; grandchildren, Chris R. Schollenbarger of Clarendon, Connie Longan of Amarillo, Miles Risley of Victoria, Trisha Dubose of Lubbock, Teresa Hill of Dallas, Seth Thornberry of Plano, Amy Dalton and Alison Risley of Lubbock; and great grandchildren, Lucas Longan, Brighton Hill, Mia and Perry Dubose, and Nick, Amanda, and Rick Risley.
