Esther Lillian Harris Owens

Services for Esther Lillian Harris Owens, age 91, were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003, in the First Baptist Church in Hedley with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Pastor of the Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon, officiating.

Mrs. Owens died Monday, June 9, 2003, in Mabank, Texas.  She was born June 6, 1912, in Gainesville.  She was a former resident of Hedley and Arlington and had lived in the Mabank area for approximately one year.  She married Michael Harris, who preceded her in death in 1975.  She then married Otis Owens who preceded her in death in 1992.  She never wavered in her love for God, her family, and her friends.  She had been a farmer and a homemaker and was a member of the Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by a son, Bill Harris.

Survivors include one son, Bart Harris of Trinidad, Texas; two daughters-in-law, Charlene Harris of Trinidad, Texas, and Louise Harris of Arlington, Texas; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
