Lacy Monroe Noble died April 21, 2009, in Clarendon at the age of 95.
Services will be held Friday, April 24, at 1 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Terry Lowe, pastor, and Rev. Dr. Janie Noble, daughter, officiating. Interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery with arrangements by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mr. Noble was born March 9, 1914, in St. Augustine, Texas to Isaac Monroe and Francis Waldrip Noble. He married Mary Lee Buchanan on August 3, 1935, and had been a resident of Donley County since he was
six months old, except for a few months in San Pedro, Calif. In 1950, he began farming his father’s farm in Windy Valley, and he moved to Clarendon in 1976 after retiring from farming. He was active in the Lelia Lake and Clarendon communities; served on the Lelia Lake School Board during its consolidation with the Clarendon Independent School District; and was a member of the Donley County Appraisal
Board, the Donley County Hospital Board, and the Donley County ASCS Board. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, his wife, and a daughter.
He is survived by a daughter, Rev. Dr. Janie Noble and husband, Frank Amon, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; two sons, Ike Noble of Arlington, Texas, and Lacy Lee Noble and wife, Jan, of Pampa; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to the United Methodist Church.
