Jack Ray McDaniel, 81, died Friday, July 2, 2010, in Fritch.
Memorial graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Retired Baptist Minister, officiating. Inurnment followed in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with military honors provided by Vietnam Veterans of America. Cremation and arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mr. McDaniel was born April 12, 1929, in Bowelgs, Oklahoma to Jay Ray and Lois May Marks McDaniel. He married Dorothy Faye Edens on November 4, 1967, in Claude. He also was a veteran having served in the US Army. He had been a resident of Fritch for over 30 years and was an employed for Gwinn Trucking in Borger for 21 years before his retirement. He loved motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy on March 19, 2001; and a sister, Jessie May Conway.
Survivors include a son, Robert McDaniel of Lubbock; three daughters, Debra Sue Denton of Fritch, Beth Watson of Sanford, and Lynn Salinas of Holly, Colorado; a sister, Barbara Hudson of Amarillo; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be at 115 Aaron Road in Fritch.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be to the American Cancer Society.
