The Friends of Donley County are asking for help as they continue fundraising efforts for a proposed activity center.
The building fund has met half of the goal with grants, donations, and fundraisers, and the Fourth of July lawn mower raffle which brought in $4,700 towards that goal.
However money that has been verbally pledged from individuals needs to be on a written pledge card and turned in to Larry Gray, Lon Adams, or the AgriLife Extension Office before October 1 so that grant funds received are not lost.
Verbal pledges are appreciated but will not be accepted by the grant foundations as legal tender. Only written pledges can be accounted for.
“In order for us to not lose funding, we must have a contractor signed agreement and proof of adequate financial support prior to December 1,” Gray said. “So please honor the donation you would like to pledge as soon as possible.”
Pledges received do not have to be paid for until after construction begins. Pledge cards are available at the AgriLife Extension Office, Herring Bank, Pilgrim Bank, and Donley County State Bank.
For more information, contact Larry Gray at 8874-2095, Lon Adams at 856-5363, or the AgriLife Extension Office at 874-2141.
